Instrument rentals are subject to availability.
Below is a list of information that governs the renting of an instrument from the Edmonton String Players Association (ESPA) and the Music Enrichment Program (MEP) for the 2020-2021 season. Should you have any questions regarding rental instruments or the renting process, please contact the Program Coordinator
A $225 Instrument Rental fee is required at the time of rental.
This fee is non-refundable.
A $150 Damage Deposit is required at the time of rental.
This deposit is required in addition to the $225 rental fee.
The damage deposit must be received in the form of a post-dated cheque at the time of rental.
This Deposit cheque will be returned to the renter once the rental instrument is returned to MEP in good working condition on, or before, the end-of-season instrument return date.
Renters are responsible for replacing broken strings and major repairs due to damage, please contact the Program Coordinator for more information.
The renter and student are responsible for following instrument care instructions as outlined by a member of MEP staff and/or any MEP instructor or conductor.
Visit our Instrument Care page for care tips.
The renter is responsible to fully pay any incurred repair costs should there be any damage to the rented instrument, or replacement costs should the instrument be lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair.
Should the student withdraw from the program for any reason and at any time before the end of the 2020/21 season, he/she will no longer be considered eligible to rent an instrument through ESPA/MEP. The rental instrument must then be returned to MEP immediately.
It is the responsibility of the student and parents/guardians to communicate withdrawals with a member of MEP staff by phone or email as soon as they occur.
The $225 rental fee is non-refundable.
Instrument return dates will be scheduled in the spring of 2021 and communicated with the renter via email.
These return dates will be scheduled on or before June 15, 2021.
Should the rental instrument not be returned by the final return date, and no alternate arrangements have been made with ESPA/MEP prior to that date, the $150 damage deposit cheque will be deposited and not refunded.
The rental instrument must be returned to ESPA/MEP in good working condition at the end of the 2020/21 season OR at any time if requested by any MEP instructor/conductor at any time during the 2020/21 season for any reason.
